The announcement comes as more and more patients are turning to cheaper and more readily available opioids to treat their pain.
A recent survey from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that more than 70 percent of adults who took opioids in 2016 reported taking at least one painkiller during the year.
A survey from The Associated Press last year showed that opioid-related deaths rose 10 percent nationally in 2017.
The Associated Press obtained a copy of an email sent from the pharmacy’s owners to employees Monday afternoon.
