New York City’s family pharmacy has opened its doors for the first time, with the addition of a new pharmacy at the intersection of West 25th Street and West 23rd Avenue.
A Pharmacy on the Edge will be able to provide the same range of care as the one found in the Family Pharmacy.
“We’ve seen families coming in for a prescription and they’ve gone in, and they said, ‘Wow, I didn’t know we had a pharmacy here,'” says Pharmacy Manager and founder and owner Emily Van Susteren.
“They come in, they wait a few minutes, and then they walk out.
This is the same level of care that’s available at the Family.”
The pharmacy will be located on the third floor of the building, next to the Family pharmacy, and will offer a wide array of health and wellness services, including a wide range of prescription medications, as well as dental, vision, hearing, and medical equipment.
In addition, there will be an extensive pharmacy counter.

“When we opened our doors in October, we had just one patient, so we had to be careful about making sure that we didn’t overburden them with unnecessary appointments,” says Van Suster.
“So we had some great staff members, so now, we have a team of six or seven people.”
The Pharmacy will also serve as a training center for pharmacists.
“This is a great opportunity for us to build a relationship with our customers, and we think it’s going to be a great experience,” says Pharmacist and founder Emily Van Buren.
“It’s an important space for us as we get into our first year of operations, so there are a lot of lessons that we’re learning about pharmacy and the business of pharmacy.”
“The Pharmacy is a new concept for us, so when we first started out, we were just focused on just filling prescriptions,” explains Pharmacy Director and CEO Karen E. Siegel.
“I think our pharmacy has been a little bit of a challenge for us in terms of the training and the experience, but we’re very excited to see how it’s developed.”
Pharmacy staff will begin work at the pharmacy on Monday, November 24, and the pharmacy will remain open until March 31, 2019.
